PHOTO SESSION
Cake smash photography is a very fun way to mark baby’s first birthday. The idea of a cake smash is to document baby’s first birthday with their first taste of cake, their first reactions and emotions.
Baby plays with the cake in front of them and usually eats it while smashing it into bits! Cake smash create some fun, in the action photo opportunities for you to keep for ever.
After every cake smash there is a time for splash session where your baby can have a fun bath in a cute bath tub, bowl or a tin and we'll document it beautifully.
Cake smash are perfect for children turning one year old (shot ideally between 11-13 months old) or two years old (between 23 to 25 months old). However, we can shoot birthday photography at other ages too.

A deposit is required to secure your booking. The deposit is deducted from the total cost of the package and the balance is due on the day of your session. There are no hidden costs, just choose the package that suits you. Basic requires £40 retainer. Exclusive package requires £80 retainer.

Please note that unedited pictures are not included in any package. If you would like to buy unedited images please note that they are priced the same as the edited version.
PRINTS IN PACKAGES
Please note that prints included in packages are copies of the digital files the client chose with their package - prints are not additional pictures.
After your Photo Session....
My Clients get access to their proofing online gallery within 7 working days after session. I do not offer In Person Sale sessions - you can view and choose your images in the comfort of your own home. From this gallery you choose your pictures that you would like to buy with your package. All selected pictures are hand edited in the style presented in my portfolio. Edits are usually ready within 3 weeks after final selection. Once digital pictures are delivered to the Client they can not be exchanged/replaced or returned. Prints are posted within 2 months after edited version is sent to the Client.

Where will our session take place?
It's in my studio in Bletchley, Milton Keynes
What can I expect from my session?
Simplicity! We will start with taking a couple of shots and close ups so you can have a nice portraits of your baby before they get messy. After that your baby will get a cake to try, smash and have fun with while I document it beautifully. After cake smash I usually offer splash session where your baby can have a fun bath in a bath tub or a bowl.
Do we need to bring anything?
Please ensure you have plenty of milk for your little one, or snacks if they are weaned and prefer this to help settle them if needed. Apart from that please remember to bring a change of clothes, baby wipes and a towel.
What should my child wear?
I usually offer an outfit for cake smash session but it's always good to have something for change or something that you would like your child to wear. Please bring one outfit that you love for your child, something very simple with limited patterns, no logos etc to keep the images timeless. Please also bring some frilly pants or a nappy cover if you have one and a simple white short sleeve vest.
My phone camera is really good. Why should I hire a professional?
As someone who takes thousands of photos on my phone I know they are invaluable in capturing those fleeting or funny things your children do every single day, but they cannot replace quality, beautifully crafted imagery that is meant for the walls and albums and this is what professional photography will give you. I will do everything in my power to coax natural smiles from your little one, however at this age I love the different natural expressions on their faces that come simply from being in this setting.
Do you share images on social media?
I love to share a sneak peek from your session if time permits. I may also use any images from your final gallery on my social media pages as well as my website or blog as a promotional tool and most parents love to see their child being featured in this way. If you would prefer your child's images not to be used in this way that's fine too, please just let me know before your session.
How long does it take before I can see the photos?
You will receive a preview gallery with RAW photos about 3/4 days after your shoot. You take your time to choose your favourites that you want me to edit. After you make your selection is takes up to 20 working days for me to edit.
Waiting time for prints is longer - up to 2 months.
How do I access the photos?
You receive access to your private online gallery that is published for 6 months time.
How do we receive our order/prints?
When your prints are ready to be collected I will let you know! For long distance clients I usually arrange postage.
How long after the session do you keep my images?
Unordered images will be purged 20 days after your session. Ordered images will be archived in my system for 6 months.
