NEWBORN PHOTO SESSION
All newborn sessions take place in my studio in Bletchley, Milton Keynes. Depending on the package you choose it usually takes 2-4 hours.
I am a fully trained and insured newborn photographer with years of experience. Every session is preceded by pre-session consultation where we discuss your expectations and where I explain the session flow and give you an advice how to prepare. I also offer a range of props and outfits to choose from.
Dedicated for babies from 5 days to 3 weeks old however preferred age is 5-14 days old. When you book we won't actually set a date for your session (unless you are having a planned c-section). Instead I make a note of your due date and ask you to contact me as soon as you can after your baby's birth. At this point we'll set a date for your session to make sure we catch the 5-14 day window. I only take a small number of bookings for newborn sessions each month. This means I can keep my diary nice and flexible and work to your baby's actual birth date rather than their estimated due date.

A deposit of £40 is required to secure your booking. The deposit is deducted from the total cost of the package and the balance is due on the day of your session. There are no hidden costs, just choose the package that suits you.

After your Photo Session....
My Clients get access to their proofing online gallery within 7 working days after session. I do not offer In Person Sale sessions - you can view and choose your images in the comfort of your own home. From this gallery you choose your pictures that you would like to buy with your package. All selected pictures are hand edited in the style presented in my portfolio. Edits are usually ready within 3 weeks after final selection. Once digital pictures are delivered to the Client they can not be exchanged/replaced or returned. Prints are posted within 2 months after edited version is sent to the Client.
SAFETY is the first and foremost consideration when photographing newborns. No portrait is worth putting a baby’s safety, comfort or wellbeing at risk. Below are some of the ways I ensure safety during every newborn photoshoot I carry out:
-I am fully insured and have trained extensively in newborn safety and in the art of newborn posing. I am lucky enough to have trained with some of the leading newborn photographers in UK, Canada and Poland.
-COVID-19: I have been triple vaccinated and regularly carry out lateral flow tests to test for the virus.
-General hygiene: I wash my hands before the start of every session, to minimise the risk of infection. Hard-surface props will be cleaned before each newborn shoot, while soft props (wraps, blankets, outfits etc.) will be washed after each shoot using detergent that is tested and approved for use with newborn babies. Soft props that are not washable (e.g. headbands) will be quarantined for 72 hours.
-Comfort first: All newborn sessions are ‘baby-led’, with the needs of the baby met and the photography considerations secondary to the baby’s health and wellbeing at all times. If a baby isn’t taking easily to a pose, or if he or she is showing signs of discomfort by waking, wriggling or wailing, I will move on to the next pose instead.
-Supervision: Babies will never be left unattended while in the studio, including when in a prop, on the posing beanbag or with a young sibling. If I need to move away from the baby, I ask a parent to place their hands on or near to the baby before stepping away, or return the baby to his or her parents first.
-Temperature: The temperature of the studio will be controlled and monitored to maintain it at sufficient warmth for the baby’s level of dress.
-Unsafe image requests: Clients’ requests for poses or specific photos that are felt to be unsafe will be refused.
FAQ
When is best time to book a newborn photo shoot?
The ideal window for the shoot is when your baby is aged between 5 and 14 days. Babies are typically very sleepy during the first two weeks after their birth so it's much easier to achieve all of those cute, curly poses and it's more likely for them to be settled and relaxed throughout the shoot.

The best time to book your newborn photo shoot is before your baby is born. You can book your session with me anytime after your 12 week scan.

My baby is already here! Is it too late to book?
If your baby has already been born please get in touch to check last minute availability. I may be able to squeeze you in if other babies have arrived a little earlier or later than planned.
Will my baby be comfortable in all of those poses?
My sessions are entirely baby led - this means we allow plenty of time for feeds and cuddles. You have to be aware that I will make every effort to comply with requests for specific photos. However, this will be dependant on the willingness/co-operation of your baby and sometimes it may not be possible for all or any of the images requested or expected to be captured. Keeping your baby safe, comfortable and happy is my number one priority. I am an experienced newborn photographer who is also trained in newborn safety and fully insured.
How much does it cost?
Price range is between £140-£380 depending on the package.
Do I have to pay double price for twins?
Nope! But I do charge £50 extra fee if the session is for twins.
